Hello! I’m Kara.

I’m a writer and editor with over 15 years of experience covering the beauty industry, women’s health, and a wide range of other lifestyle and wellness topics. 

After most recently serving as content director at Allure (2019-2025) and executive editor at Bustle (2014-2019), I’m now fully freelance. My writing has appeared in Marie Claire, Business of Fashion, the New York Times, Playboy, NH Magazine, and others.

I’m available for writing, editing, and content strategy projects, including editorial reporting, copywriting, newsletters, sponsored and branded content, trend and industry reports, and consumer-facing or in-house promotion materials.
