About KARA

I’ve been working in fashion and beauty editorial since 2011, most recently at Bustle. I spent nearly six years building the fashion & beauty verticals there, with my last title at the company being Executive Editor, Fashion & Beauty. Now I’ve gone fully freelance! My bylines have appeared on Bustle (of course), Refinery29, Seventeen, and The Knot.

Pre-editor life, I studied Print (?!) Journalism, Spanish, and Musical Theater at Hofstra University on Long Island. Before that, I went to cosmetology school in New Hampshire for a little formal beauty training.

Now, I live in Brooklyn with my partner, three black cats, and the occasional foster dog.
